Without Funding, There Is No Future…

More Than a Grade

“The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.”
– Vidal Sassoon

MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers believe hard work should be recognized by more than a top grade—top dollars are needed too. If we can’t support the next generation of defenders, we’re not working hard enough at our own practice.

That’s why MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers is thrilled to announce the establishment of the MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers Book Award in Evidence grant at Stetson University College of Law. This award aims to honor and foster excellence in legal education by rewarding top-performing students with a three-year grant totaling $7,500.

Each year this scholarship will be presented to the student who earns the highest grade in evidence law at Stetson University College of Law. For MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers, evidence law is a crucial area of the practice and deserves foundational support for outstanding work.

Hope for a Bright Future

The first honoree of the MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers Book Award in Evidence grant goes to Hope Corbit. Her diligence and dedication to her studies in evidence has earned her $2,500 each year for three years over the course of her continuing studies at Stetson University. We’re thrilled to support her exceptional talents and watch how she grows.

Managing Partner Jeffrey “Jack” Gordon describes the collaboration as a “huge success” because “MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers believes in the power of investing in the best. Rewarding the outstanding achievements of the next generation is key to the success of many in the field of legal professionals.”

Powers of Partnership and Promoting Legal Education

Money matters. Gordon says, “We understand the significance of strong evidence in building compelling cases as well as the hard work and dedication it takes to learn how to do just that. This award reflects our commitment to excellence in legal education and our support for students who display exceptional aptitude and passion.”

This unique collaboration between Stetson University College of Law and MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers gives help where it makes the most difference and encourages students to strive for academic excellence. For extraordinary students like Hope Corbit, funding helps her to sustain her future studies without the added stress of how to fully pay for it.

Maney Gordon Trial Lawyers Stay In Step Charity Give 2022

It’s this same kind of commitment and value system we share with STAY IN STEP (SIS), a veteran-founded and -operated Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Center. It is a personal importance to the team at MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers that we support local organizations so we can work together to make our communities stronger.

By supporting SIS, we aim to foster a sense of unity and inspire others to join us in creating a stronger, more compassionate community. We firmly believe that giving back is not only a responsibility but also a privilege, and we are honored to be able to make a tangible fiscal impact.

One of the most significant benefits of a relationship between SIS and MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers is the power to inspire others to give and get involved. Our dedication to SIS extends to our attorneys and staff who actively volunteer and participate in service initiatives. We encourage our team members to use their skills and expertise as a catalyst for increased community engagement, encouraging others to contribute their time, resources, and expertise. This ripple effect strengthens the fabric of the local community and creates a culture of collective responsibility.

Built on the Back of a Soldier

While conducting a combat operation in Afghanistan on Sept. 16, 2008, Chief Warrant Officer Romulo “Romy” Camargo sustained a gunshot wound that paralyzed him from the neck down. The surgeries and rehabilitation that followed the next seven years laid the groundwork for the STAY IN STEP (SIS), a veteran-founded and -operated Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Center co-created by Romy and his wife Gaby. SIS is not only a neighboring association in Tampa Bay, FL, it is a highly sought after incomparable rehabilitation center that provides innovative and cutting-edge therapies to help those with spinal cord injuries achieve greater mobility, independence, and a better quality of life. SIS offers a range of services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and counseling, all tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual on their road to recovery.

Romy in Action

According to a 2016 report by the National Spinal Cord Injury Statistical Center, approximately 30% of persons with spinal cord injuries are re-hospitalized one or more times during any given year following injury. Among those re-hospitalized, the length of hospital stays averages 22 days. The STAY IN STEP program focuses on preventing and in many cases, reversing the deterioration that results from lack of sustained physical activity. This not only results in a better quality of life for clients but reduces the emotional and financial burden on families and caregivers.

Jeffrey “Jack” Gordon spearheads the relationship between MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers and SIS. He told his constituents, “We’re honored to support an organization like STAY IN STEP. The brave people who defend our country are a special breed. We are grateful to be in a position to be able to help them grow their outreach.”

SIS provides long-term rehabilitation and therapy to both veterans and civilians suffering from spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury or any other neurological disorder resulting in paralysis. SIS is able to do this with the same principles and dedication as MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers: true advocacy.

What sets STAY IN STEP apart is their commitment to advancing rehabilitation therapies and participating in innovative, groundbreaking research. The center continuously explores and adopts cutting-edge technologies, including robotics and exoskeletons, to enhance recovery outcomes.

How to Find a Good Malpractice Lawyer

Have you been the victim of medical malpractice? If so, you are likely feeling overwhelmed and worried about your future. You may not know where to turn or how to find a good malpractice lawyer. At MANEY | GORDON Trial Lawyers, we understand the difficult situation you are in and want to help you find the best malpractice lawyers to represent you.

What is Medical Malpractice?

Medical malpractice is a legal term used to describe negligence by a healthcare professional that results in injury to a patient. It can occur in a variety of situations, including misdiagnoses, failure to diagnose, incorrect treatment, or even failure to provide any treatment at all. Types of medical malpractice can range from minor to catastrophic. Some of the most common types of medical malpractice include misdiagnosis, prescription errors, birth injuries, surgical errors, and anesthesia errors.

These are just a few examples of the many types of medical malpractice. It is important to be aware of the different types of medical malpractice and to seek legal advice if you think you or a loved one may have been a victim of medical malpractice.

How to Find the Best Medical Malpractice Lawyer

SocialPostBlog

If you or a loved one was injured due to medical malpractice, the first step you should take is seeking the advice of a reputable attorney who specializes in malpractice law. An attorney can help you determine if you have a case and provide you with guidance on how to proceed with filing your lawsuit. But, how do you find the best malpractice attorney for you? Read on to learn how.

Ask for Recommendations

When looking for a good malpractice lawyer, it’s a good idea to start by asking for recommendations from friends, family, and colleagues. They may be able to recommend a good lawyer who has successfully handled similar cases. Additionally, it may be worth asking your primary care doctor if they have any recommendations, assuming that doctor is not the one who caused the injury to you or your loved one. They may be able to recommend a lawyer they’ve worked with in the past and trust.

Check Online Reviews

Once you have a few potential lawyers in your sights, it’s important to do your due diligence and check their online reviews. This can give you an idea of how experienced and successful they are. Additionally, it can give you a better understanding of their customer service and how they interact with clients. Positive attorney reviews can go a long way to helping you find the right match for you.

Consider Credentials & Verify Bar Status

It’s also important to consider the lawyer’s credentials and verify their bar status. You should make sure they are licensed to practice law in your state and have the necessary qualifications to handle your case. Additionally, you should check for any disciplinary action taken against them. If they are no longer registered with the bar association in your state or have a history of disciplinary actions against them, it will be easy to cross that potential lawyer off the list.

Meet in Person by Scheduling a Consultation

The next step is to meet with the lawyer in person. This can be done by scheduling a consultation. During the consultation, you can ask questions and get a better understanding of their experience, the types of cases they handle, and their strategy for your case. This is also an opportunity for you to get to know them and see if you are comfortable working with them. A good fit is important to making your case successful.

Ask the Right Questions

There are a few key questions you need to ask before hiring an attorney for your medical malpractice case.

First, you should ask the lawyer about their experience in malpractice cases. You want to make sure that the lawyer you are choosing has the right experience in the particular area of malpractice law. Ask them how many malpractice cases they have handled in the past and what their success rate is. This will give you an idea of how successful they have been in the past and if they have the knowledge to successfully handle your case.

Second, you should ask about the lawyer’s fee structure. You want to make sure that you understand what their fee structure is and if there are any other costs associated with the case. It is important to know exactly how much you will be paying for the services of the lawyer. In many cases, the lawyer will only take fees if you win a verdict or settlement, but even then, you need to be aware of the percentage fee they will claim when the case is complete and the verdict or settlement is awarded.

Third, you should ask the lawyer questions about how they will handle your case. You want to make sure that the lawyer has a plan for your case and that they are confident in their ability to get the best outcome for you. Ask them about their strategy for the case and how they will communicate with you throughout the process. This is important to make sure that you are comfortable with the lawyer’s approach and that they are confident in their ability to get you the best result.

Finally, you should ask the lawyer what kind of resources they have available to handle your case. Ask them if they have any contacts that can provide additional services or advice that could help your case. It is important to make sure that the lawyer has the resources necessary to handle your case correctly to achieve a favorable outcome.

If you have been the victim of medical malpractice, it’s important to find a good malpractice lawyer to represent you. The best way to find a good lawyer is to ask for recommendations from friends and family, check online reviews, consider credentials and verify bar status, meet with them in person, and ask the right questions. If you do each of those things, you’ll likely work with a top-rated lawyer with the expertise to fight for your rights.
